LONDON, UK, June, 2011 – Procter & Gamble has been named as one of 11 worldwide sponsors of the Olympic Games in a ten year deal spanning the London 2012 Games through to the 2020 Olympic Games.
The sponsorship will cover a total of 22 P&G brands including Ariel, Lenor and Fairy, extending the depth of P&G’s global reach to four billion people worldwide. The opportunity presented by the sponsorship allows Procter & Gamble to leverage its experience in the professional, out of home market – via Procter & Gamble Professional – to deliver practical advice to independent hospitality operators as we inch closer to the London 2012 Games. P&G Professional brands participating in the sponsorship include Flash, Bold, Ariel, Fairy and Lenor.

With P&G Professional's broad portfolio of cleaning solutions, we’re confident independent hospitality operators will have the right products to keep Britain clean and fresh throughout the 2012 Games.”
The London 2012 Olympic Games is the perfect platform for Procter & Gamble to continue its commitment to improving the day-to-day running of small and large scale businesses, as well as improving the lives of athletes and family households around the world. The independent hospitality industry is home to many of P&G Professional’s brands and the company will be leveraging The Olympics to share practical advice with independent hospitality businesses – giving them the head start they need to maximise this unique opportunity.
Procter & Gamble’s experience from the Vancouver Winter Olympic Games highlighted the impact major sporting events can have on companies. At the Winter Olympic Games, Procter & Gamble generated up to $100 million in incremental sales. Procter & Gamble is excited to be taking this now to an international scale, and working to maximise the incredible opportunities the London 2012 Olympic Games presents for the hospitality and catering industry.
